Poets’ Corner

For Black History Month, we created a Poets’ Corner at Canary Wharf to give young, black spoken-word artists a platform where their voices can be heard. The Poets’ Corner was the first Speakers’ Corner in East London, helping to position Canary Wharf as a city (within a city) of culture. The Corner hosted performances by Young People’s Poet Laureate Theresa Lola, T.S. Eliot Prize winner Roger Robinson, filmmaker Joladé Olusanya, and Instagram poet Sarah Aluko.
